This week, Carbine's looking forward to a future stress test weekend, so they grabbed the Live Producer, Craig Turner, and made him tell us all about it!

Craig might have made it seem like the stress test is this weekend, but Carbine was quick to point out that it hasn't been announced yet and they'll keep us informed.

This week's WildStar Wednesday has hit a road bump, as Carbine has stated the Internet isn't working at their studio. So let's fill that space with some good ol' WildStar Fanart! It's been a while since the last fanart showcase so let's dive right in.

Yay, finally finished! These are my WildStar characters whom I absolutely fell in love with as I drew them. (See the drawing process here: [link]) The background is a beauitful screenshot from in-game!

With WildStar reaching its closed beta state, it comes with increased anticipation, also attracting many who have never heard of it yet. So for those less informed, we present 'Five Reasons to Love WildStar'.

#5 - Carbine really listens to the community.

I know it's a bold statement, but I've seen it in person. They politely invited a bunch of fans to their lovely studio, showed us a ton of stuff we still can't talk about, let us play the game, and then take some really honest feedback from fans.

They also have this awesome twitter discussion about every other week, usually asking tough, philosophical questions about the core concepts of what makes an MMO great. Want to participate? Follow @Team_WildStar, they'll ask a question using the hashtag #WSuplink and you respond with the same hashtag. Keep an eye on the community team (CRB_Atreid, CRB_Aether, and CRB_Scooter) to interact with them throughout the discussions.

This week, Carbine's looking into the data that they are receiving from the closed beta that began just one short week ago. Executive Producer Jeremy Gaffney shares some great accomplishments in only a weeks time, including working addons...

We had the first User Interface Addon created by a fan for the game within 24 hours of opening the world up. Oh, and we didn’t provide documentation, so tester Packetdancer made their friend-finder UI in that timeframe just by digging through the code for our own UI (we’ll provide documentation eventually, we swear - but we haven’t yet).

Gaffney also pointed out that Poptart, an Aurin Esper, was the first player to show up to Nexus in the beta launch last week. So from WildStar Forums, we'd like to honor Poptart for their awesome achievement! Cheers!

Carbine reacted to some leaked beta patch notes today. Below is an excerpt from their press release:

Leaks are a challenge for every game. Here's how it generally works: You identify people who are excited about your game, and map that interest to their machine's ability to play that game. Then you invite them into your house to provide critical feedback on your development team's hard work.

Youtuber TotalBiscuit, released a couple videos today of his playthroughs at PAX East 2013. Watch his take on WildStar in the videos below as he talks with Carbine's Game Design Producer, Stephan Frost.

Today, Carbine has graced us with a great summary of how their servers operate. Lead Network & Database Engineer David Ray is tasked with the challenge of explaining how their servers work, and he does a great job, even the tech illiterate will understand it. David explains quite a bit, from how the chat system works (even hinting at some sort of chat that might go out of the client to others...) to how their hardware can scale to the demand as they ramp up the closed beta into a full release.

It was a quiet Friday night, until Carbine's Lead Narrative Designer, Chad Moore (aka @Pappylicious) started a haiku throwdown and all hell broke loose! It started with a demanding tweet from Chad...

Naturally, the WildStar faithful sent a flurry of haiku. It's amazing how quickly some of the WildStar fans could put them together. With yesterday's surprise Uplink Analysis coming a day early, Carbine is surprising us once again with a new series called the Econ Devblog. Econ is what Carbine calls everything that deals with the economy, be it items, crafting, vendors, rewards, etc. The post today is focused on what they are calling Circuit Board Crafting, which deals with modding items to better suit your character. The reason they are bringing all this up now, is that they want feedback from the community to expand their item slots. They want ideas from us and as a fan myself, I love this idea a ton. Stay tuned for more info, because Carbine says this collaborative opportunity is right around the corner.

It seems that Carbine jumped the gun on the Uplink Analysis this week, instead of appearing tomorrow, we get it today! Always a fan of unexpected surprises, I found myself doubly surprised when yours truely was mentioned in this weeks Uplink Analysis!

Generally, a healthy community is one where players are engaged with each-other in a positive & constructive manner. This positivity can be proactive help, fan creations, encouragement and advice when starting new projects. Conversely, a negative community is filled with toxic elements - hate speech/insults, destructive criticism, etc. There's also the inclusive versus exclusive, welcoming newcomers versus ridiculing noobs.
